The earliest thing I remember is pulling into a parking lot in my Jetta. I was going to some non-descript event that was happening in this building under construction while it was being worked on. We had a pretty big room. My friend Cannon was there, and so was my oldest sister. I went off to explore at some point. The building was bigger than it looked. It had two stories; the lobby on the bottom floor led to three auditorium-style rooms. My curiosity got the best of me; as I peeked through one of the doors I noticed a grand piano, but the receptionist yelled at me. She told me I couldn’t go in there.
I found my way to the second floor. I was sitting on a ledge, looking down to the street. My peeps were leaving, so I decided to go back in to join them. A crowd rushed in. To see a play, some were saying. In the time I managed to exit, the city had turned into Mordor. Micro-volcanoes were erupting everywhere around me. The eruptions were perfectly synchronized, forming ridges in straight lines, moving forward or in cycles. There were bigger ones in the distant mountains doing the same thing. It was the weirdest thing, the eruptions were beautiful.
I got to my car and started driving. Noticed the car was skidding quite a bit. It was pretty hot, thought my tires were just about melting; had the worst this is no bueno type feeling, as I had somewhere to be. Drove until I could no more and, when I got out I learned that my theory was true; the tires had melted. The eruptions were gone though. I was somewhere looking like the boundary between a steppe and a desert. Walked all the way to my destination. It wasn’t necessarily close by, but I eventually made it. Cannon was waiting for me; we had talked about this in the place we were before. I felt a little embarrassed as what I believed to be a wedding or a similar ceremony had already started. I rang the bell anyhow. Cannon came down to open up. He gave me that look and, in a friendly manner, called me an idiot. He also offered me a seat, which I gladly took.
A rapid succession of events happened. Out of nowhere, I found myself back in Mississippi. Saw my uncle. We had a chat I can’t remember. Before I got to do anything I seemingly teleported back to my hometown. I was in Fuente Dorada. I didn’t know how I got there, but everything seemed normal except the streets were crowded. I called an old friend. He was over at the university. He’d eventually come pick me up in his way home, but I started walking. I was texting location updates when I got to the street that goes behind San Benito. I noticed there now was a creek there. As I approached the actual river, this creek was getting unreasonably large. I decided to cross it, because why not? I dropped my phone as I got to the confluence; the screen cracked a little on one of the edges. When I looked up, I saw the river had turned bright orange. I needed to cross it, but this change didn’t inspire confidence, so I decided to take the another route. As I turned, I saw piles of animal carcasses. It was mostly poultry and deer, but there were other animals too. I walked towards this scene, slowly. Around a corner, I saw what looked like a 7 or 8 foot long cockroach feasting on one of the carcasses. This roach had her back legs up on a tree; it was heavily leaning on the animal. I looked at it for a few seconds before I decided that getting any closer would be a mistake. I turned around to find an even weirder looking river; I started to feel a bit anxious when all the sudden my alarm woke me.
